Alexandra and Joshua Price of Evansville said WFIE The family went to a Walgreens store on October 4th so that the whole family could get the flu jab.
Instead, according to the price, the pharmacist vaccinated not only adults, but also his 5-year-old daughter Sophia and his 4-year-old son Lucas with the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine.
However Pfizer The vaccine is only approved for people over the age of 16 and only for people between the ages of 12 and 15.
The company has submitted an emergency use authorization application to the US Food and Drug Administration for children aged 5 to 11 years.
According to the price, children suffer from side effects such as high blood pressure and increased heart rate.

Alexandra told WFIE that he didn’t know anything wrong until he received a call from a Walgreens employee about the mistake.
She and her husband had already been fully vaccinated since April 2021, but were not worried about the additional doses they received, only for their children.
“Walgreens called me that there was confusion, we weren’t vaccinated against the flu,” she said.
“And I said,” What did we get? “And he said,” I took a COVID-19 shot, “and immediately I said,” What does this mean for my kids? ” …? ”
Daniel Tuley, a lawyer representing the Price family, told WFIE that Walgreens had issued a vaccine card to the entire family from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The card clearly shows that the child’s birthday is 2016 and 2017.
According to the price, children have shown side effects such as fever, cough, high blood pressure and heart problems since taking it in adults.

‘[The cardiologist] Alexandra told WFIE.
“And our son Lucas suffered from tachycardia …” when his heart rate was too fast.
These problems may be caused by children receiving adult doses.
Children are not just small adults, so they are often the last group to be tested during vaccine clinical trials.
Their bodies and immune system behave differently, which means they may have different treatment needs.
In addition, children may need different doses depending on their height, weight and age.
Pfizer said last month that it chose a lower dose for the COVID-19 vaccine trial in children than given to teens and adults.
People over the age of 12 will be vaccinated twice with 30 micrograms (μg).
However, children aged 5 to 11 years were given a dose of 10 μg, and children aged 6 months to 4 years were given a dose of 3 μg.
“Privacy law does not allow us to comment on the events of a particular patient,” Walgreens wrote in a statement to WFIE.
“But in general, such cases are rare and Walgreens takes these issues very seriously. When an error occurs, our first concern is always patient well-being. ..
“Our multi-step vaccination procedure includes several safety checks to minimize the possibility of human error. To prevent such occurrences, pharmacies staff and this I have confirmed the process. ”
