In Platinum, the jubilee fund creates a boost for village councils

Villages in England are set to benefit from a new renovation fund launched by the Government today (May 28, 2022) to celebrate the Great Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen.

Rural life և communities are based on fitness classes, coffee mornings, community groups, messy sales, art clubs և post offices, even in the most remote locations. They often provide the community միակ the only meeting place և the only place to communicate և are vital in the fight against loneliness, providing a lifeline for those who can not travel long distances.

The new միլիոն 3 million grant announced today will be a significant boost for rural communities with 125 municipalities, allowing for vital upgrades and improvements.

Larger, brighter, more modern areas will encourage more people to use their village councils, unite people.

Lord Benyon, the Minister of Rural Affairs, said:

The village halls are the center of rural life, and for the jubilee, financing their renovation is an appropriate tribute to the Queen’s service.

In a changing world, these are great opportunities for community groups, social clubs, and local services. This funding will ensure that they are central to the structure of our villages for many years to come.

Rural Coalition President Margaret Clark Clark The CBI said:

Village municipalities provide the central point of village life. They support services, facilities, and meeting places that would not otherwise be available to many rural communities. In doing so, they play a crucial role in helping to raise the bar in rural areas.

I welcome the new Platinum Jubilee Fund announced today, which will allow more village councils to modernize their areas so that they can continue to meet the needs of their communities for years to come.

David Emerson CBE, England’s Country Operations President, said:

We are glad to know that with this capital financing program the government resumes its support to the village administrations in this jubilee year. In the heart of rural communities for more than a century, these unique volunteer salons have done much to support the well-being of local people, as well as help maintain the many livelihoods that depend on the use of these mighty buildings.

This is an announcement that is especially relevant during the week when the local celebrations of the Royal Jubilee take place in every 1000 halls of the country.

Chris Coucher, Plancket Foundation Policy Officer.

The Platinum Jubilee Renovation Fund of Village Municipalities is a real occasion of the holiday. Many municipalities host community-owned enterprises, such as local shops, markets, and post offices, which create a real beating heart for their villages, which not only provide vital services but also reach vulnerable, isolated, lonely people. We hope that this fund will support more community enterprises, it will just help rural areas to prosper.

The Platinum Jubilee Village Improvement Grant Fund will provide grants over three years (until 2025) to support municipal capital improvement projects, such as Wi-Fi installation, building expansion, and building modernization.

Today’s announcement is based on the support of the former government of the village administrations. Defra has supported the modernization of rural England through the previous Village Improvement Grant Fund (VHIGF). Launched in 2019, the fund has supported the modernization programs of 125 municipalities, which, along with other sources of funding, have enabled improvements to the municipalities by more than միլիոն 17 million.

The Platinum Jubilee Village Hall Improvement Grant Foundation will build on the success of Queen Victoria ծրագր Memorial projects, showing that almost 200 years later, we continue to build on the legacy of the monarchy, both in the past and with others. 125 village municipalities, which will bear this heritage.

Details on how the funding will be managed will be announced in a timely manner.
