Hairstyle quarrel when Kingswood Academy in Hull isolated the boy | Great Britain |: news

14-year-old Charlie Dayes returned to school after the Easter break with a new haircut, half shaved at the bottom and decorated at the top, but his teachers isolated him because there were “two contrasting colors”. Charlie’s mother, Sam Dice, was angry և although she took her son to the hairdresser on Monday to “try to make it to school”, Halley Kingswood Academy teachers were still unhappy, եմ Sam kicked Charlie out of class.

Sam said. “She did her haircut before going back to school. I took him to school, then they called me, mostly saying they had to isolate Charlie. I asked. “Why?” և They said that “because of her haircut, it does not fit into school policy.”

“They said it because of the faded line or something, you could see two contrasting colors. I said. “Well, obviously you’ll see two contrasting colors, because half of it is shaved and the top is cut off.” He did not. added colors or something like that. ”

The mother claimed that the teacher said that Charlie’s haircut “distracts the other students”. Hull Live: reports.

During the isolation, Sam claims that Charlie was put in a locked room and allowed to go to the bathroom twice a day, accompanied by a teacher. He also said he was not allowed to go while other students were traveling between classes.

Sam added. “I said. “How does that affect his education, his haircut?”

“School uniform, I fully understand that politics should be strict, but I said. “This is a haircut. Can you explain to me why you put him in isolation, which punishes him?” “Sitting in an isolated room is not good for his mental health.”

Despite disagreeing with the isolation policy, Sam nevertheless tried to solve the problem by taking Charlie back to hairdresser Adrian Shann on Monday afternoon, where he usually cuts his hair in an attempt to change it to please the school. He thought he was lucky only to have his son return home on Tuesday afternoon and told him he had been isolated again.

On Wednesday, Sam decided to keep Charlie out of school as long as he remained in solitary confinement for his haircut, and he was warned he could face a fine for doing so.

“I would rather have a fine than let my son suffer like that,” said Sam.

Kingswood Academy, Yorkshire’s top performing school, was asked to comment.

The website of the academy, the common policy guide, says about the student’s hair. “Hair must be smart and conservative. Extreme hair colors are not allowed (only natural looking colors are allowed). Extreme hair styles, including obvious gradual changes in length, shaved lines / patterns, and colored braids are also not allowed on any student.

“Students will be asked to correct these problems as soon as possible, և parents will be contacted. If the problem cannot be corrected, the student will be subjected to relapse until the hair meets the expectations of the academy. ”
