Techfugees, a global non-profit advocate for refugee digital inclusion, has announced a Digital Sparks campaign in collaboration with Google.
Google offers 100 Digital Skills Career Scholarships to the global Techfugees community. This provides unemployed job seekers with the digital skills they need to prepare for their careers in the digital technology sector.
Scholarships reach a wide range of participants, especially empowering female refugees and young unemployed job seekers in the Techfugees global community. This will support regional migration and resettlement refugees in several countries, including Lebanon, Uganda, Kenya, the United Kingdom and Germany.
Online courses available through scholarships are in four high-demand digital disciplines, including: Google IT Support Professional Certificate, Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, Google Project Management Professional Certificate When Google UX Design Professional Certificate..
This campaign aims to help people develop the skills that employers are looking for now and in the future. Refugees do not need to have the relevant experience or degree to qualify for a scholarship, and the qualifications are recognized by industry professionals and employers. If completed full-time by March 2022, each course can be completed in 4-6 weeks.
The scholarship is part of Techfugees and is led by Techfugees’ local branch, volunteers and supporters to develop digital talent and promote refugee participation in the digital economy of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Part of the initiative.
