For children’s allowance, universal credit and tax credits will be paid

When claiming benefits, the next payment date may be different than usual. Bank holiday..

Monday, May 31st is a bank holiday, and if you normally plan to receive payment on that day, you should receive it early.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed that claimants for tax credits and children’s allowances expected to be paid on May 31 will instead receive the money three days before Friday, May 28.

DWP has not officially confirmed that other benefits, including Universal Credit, will also be paid on May 28. According to the website, if the payment date is a weekend or a bank holiday, the payment will usually be made on the previous business day.

If payment is delayed, you will need to contact your bank before calling HMRC.
