DutiesVicky McClure is leading the cast of this new series, shining a spotlight on the Metropolitan Police Department’s bomb squad unit.
The show is generated by Jed Mercurio – Line of Duty Prominent Writer – Therefore, using Vicky in the leading role will result in a comparison between the two dramas.
However, the actress says her personality (former soldier Lana Washington) is very different from Line of Duty’s Kate Fleming, and the series is much more action-packed.
“When I was in this, I didn’t feel anything like Kate. We certainly don’t look the same. I don’t have any makeup. My hair It’s a much dull little ponytail, “she explains.

“It’s a very different show. There’s more action-it’s an explosive drama.
Of course, the police are inevitable to be part of it, but I think the audience will be caught up in this new world and brought there very quickly. “
Vicky will be joined by Hustle Star Adrian Lester, who plays Joel “Nut” Natkins, Lana’s companion “Exposition” because of the nickname of the officer.
“They serve together in the army and have long-standing friendships,” says Vicky.
“When they were away from home in the army, they were the only ones. By working like me, I think I could understand what the relationship was like.”
“I’m such a home body and I hate that part of the job.”
“I, Adrian [Dunbar] And Martin [Compston] A good example of a colleague becoming a family at Line Of Duty, Nut and Lana are just that. ”
At the show, we see terrorist campaigns attacking the capital, Lana and Nat chasing the people behind the bombing, and at the forefront of dismantling the device, putting even more lives at risk.
“Lana gets more lost when trying to figure out who is planting these bombs and why they are approaching the house,” says Vicky.
“They start to recognize signs that they have a connection to the device they are picking up.”
“And along the way, she has to deal with her own personal problems.”
The show was filmed around London during the summer and was full of fireworks explosions and action scenes.
“I always want to do as much as I can, but this was the most physical work I’ve ever had,” she says.
“I have a big protective bomb suit I’m wearing. It’s absolute weight, but I didn’t want to take it on purpose.”
“There are all these tubes that feed the air conditioner into the suit and you feel very choked and claustrophobic. I was intrigued by how it felt.”
Vicky, who played the leading role in the drama, noticed during the filming that he was devoting his life to the show.
“I knew that if I got Covid, it would be a big headache for the whole production,” she explains.
“So I didn’t go out. I spent my weekend indoors. I lived like a nun. Adrian Dunbar won the Leading Actor Award and they presented it to me. I went to the GQ Awards because I was asking for it, so I got OK.
