Essential Items To Keep In Your Bag Now That You Can Leave The House Again

It’s been an awfully long time coming, but things are finally approaching something resembling normal again and we can leave the house and meet friends and loved ones. That means that we can go to the pub, we can go out to dinner, and we can sit outside in the glorious summer weather (provided the summer weather is glorious, of course). It’s going to be a bit of a shock to the system to actually be spending time in the company of the people we care about again, that’s for sure.

And one of the things that we’ll have to get used to is that we’re going to have to start thinking about what we’re taking out of the house with us. We’ll obviously still need to pack the pandemic essentials, like a facemask and plenty of hand sanitiser, but frankly it’s been a long time since we last had to plan for an excursion that is going to take longer than an hour. If you need a little refresher on the essential items that no one should leave the house without in summer 2021, here are some of our ideas.

A Re-Usable Water Container

Just because we can go in and out of small businesses again, it doesn’t mean that we want to be making any unnecessary stops. Don’t let yourself get caught a long way from home and gasping for a drink of water. A reusable water container doesn’t just save you money and trips to the corner shop. We should all be thinking about the steps that we can take to reduce our plastic usage, and a water bottle that you can clean and reuse yourself is a great first step.

A Phone Charger

As we mentioned, it’s been a long time since we had to worry about how long a trip out of the house would take, and even the oldest of mobile phones can probably handle an hour or two without a charge. However, if you’re looking at taking a day trip then you should think about packing a phone charger or battery charger along with you.

We have all had a lot to worry about over the last twelve months which means that a lot of the usual essential item maintenance we would usually be doing has fallen by the wayside. What we mean by that is, it may have been some time since you last got a phone upgrade, and that old battery might just be on its last legs. Take a charger with you so you don’t end up on the wrong end of the percentage.

Back-Up Vape Gear

It is absolutely wonderful that we are finally able to sit in a pub and dine in a restaurant, but every vaper knows that there’s nothing worse than running out of vape liquid or needing a replacement coil in a hurry when you’re enjoying quality time with friends. If you’re heading out for a long day in the sun that may stretch into a long evening, don’t forget to pack everything you need for your e-cigarette.

It is definitely worth stocking up on supplies ahead of time rather than having to head out on a hunt for a shop that stocks your preferred flavour liquid or the right parts, and The Vape House provide e-liquids from the best brands as well as pens, mods and a wide range of different coils.

Facemask And Hand Sanitiser

We know, we know, we mentioned them in the intro, and no one wants to be reminded that there’s still a pandemic on. However, like it or not, there is still a pandemic on, and these items are absolutely essential when you leave the house. The restrictions have relaxed now, and we can all breathe a little easier in general, but you still need to make sure that you are washing and sanitising your hands on a regular basis.

It’s also important to remember that just because you have had your vaccine, it doesn’t mean that everyone else in the shop has. Take an extra facemask or two with you just in case you need to go inside somewhere and remember that you can still spread the virus even if you don’t have any symptoms yourself.

A Camera

But let’s end on a positive note. We haven’t seen most of our friends and family members in person for months and months. Some of us haven’t seen each other since before this whole pandemic started. It’s going to be incredible when we can finally hug the people we love and tell them how much we missed them in person. Whether you’re going for a drink or sitting in their garden, one thing is for sure: it will be a day worth commemorating. Take a camera with you to make sure you don’t miss the big moments.
