But fans of the actor were delighted to see him return to their screen on Sunday night in BBC One’s latest crime drama.

Bloodlands viewers soon realized that Asan was playing the role of Larry and appeared within the first two minutes of the first episode of the series.
Tom Branick, the character of starring actor James Nesbitt, was seen meeting his daughter Izzy at the bar and was introduced to Larry, a love concern played by Asan.
Obviously glad, viewers rushed to social media and announced that they found Asan on the screen.
One person wrote: “It’s great to see @ AsanNjie, also known as the real Ellis Chapman, on TV again.”
Second post: “It’s good to see @ AsanNjie given another opportunity.” Another simply said: “Original Ellis from Emmerdale! [sic]“”
The last viewer asked, “Is it an actor who was once in Emmerdale? Is it a dismissed actor?”
Asan’s dismissal from Emmerdale was confirmed in September 2019, a soap spokesman said. OK!online At that time: “Emerdale suspended Asan Nie yesterday until further investigation of the incident at a hotel in central London took place on Monday night.
“ITV executives met him this morning, and as a result, Asan’s contract ended immediately.”
Bloodlands will continue on BBC One on Sunday at 9pm.
