We are all counting the days until Christmas, and the kids can’t wait. We had a great time at Lapland UK, and the kids gave their letters to their real father Christmas. It was very magical. Their gift list is actually quite long. Theo’s was an entire page and Millie’s was two pages long. But after the conversation, they now understand that not everything is on their list. I think it’s important to manage their expectations. We don’t want to spoil them too much.
With Pete, I really had a hard time getting him. He couldn’t tell me anything he wanted. He is officially the most difficult man to buy in the world! I brought him something like pajamas and a new coffee cup.
I didn’t even know what to ask him. I’ve mentioned them because I’ve never had AirPods, but it’s expensive so I’m not sure if he will get them. I don’t like to ask for expensive things. Pete also suggested a replacement Apple Watch because he lost me while trying on the Pride of Britain dress.
I took it off so I didn’t hook the dress and ended up losing it somewhere in the bedroom! In the meantime, I wore his old one, but it makes sense for him to get it to me, as I can get it with a phone contract and choose the size and strap color myself. I told him not.
Whatever he gets me, I know I like it. Because it’s always an important idea for me at Christmas.

It was another strange year in many respects, but 2021 had a really good time. I think the best thing for me was the publication of my book, Growing Up For Girls. It’s my dream and I’m very proud to have achieved it. It was another big thing for me that Theo started school.
All the kids made some form of transition in September, so there were many changes to deal with. Junior started college, Millie moved to Junior, and Princess started her GCSE. It’s really nice to see the kids prosper and grow, and I’m really proud of all of them about how they treated everything.
Ringing in 2022
I still don’t know what I’m doing on New Year’s Eve because I don’t know what the Covid limits will be. We want to do something with our family and leave, but it’s so careful about the rules of travel that everything is a little floating in the air.
Anyway, we’ll be together in the family, and if we’re at home, make sure we go see the fireworks and do something fun. As always, everything we do is arranged at the last minute. Some things don’t change!
