“I thought it was honest. I didn’t want it to cover anything with saccharin or something like that. It was true and ended when I was calm. I was really influenced. An early bit with my family, it made me cry.

Elton had previously opened up about his cocaine habits in his memoirs serialized in the Daily Mail in October 2019.

The star writes:’I started drinking cocaine in 1974. I liked how it made me feel. The shock of that self-confidence and happiness, the feeling of being able to open suddenly, the feeling of not being shy or intimidated, the feeling of being able to talk to anyone.

“It’s your way or the highway. It’s a terrifying drug.”
