RM, a provider of technology solutions for the education sector, has announced details of a new partnership with the Harris Federation, a leading multi-academic trust in and around London.
The two organizations have signed a contract to upgrade all Harris Federation IT infrastructure and devices over the next five years.
The £ 26 million work program will use RM’s partnership network to deliver the best value and quality for the Harris Federation.
The main features of the planned works include: Each academy must have a complete infrastructure upgrade, including increased wireless points and switches and cabling.
All devices, including interactive whiteboards, will be replaced with a standard design that will allow all teachers and students at each Harris Academy to harness the power of IT, in various ways, to further improve the quality of teaching.
Also part of the plans is to ensure that cyber resilience and sustainability plans are both supported by an IT lifecycle strategy
Sir Dan Moynihan, CEO of the Harris Federation, explains: “This partnership allows the Harris Federation to maintain our local infrastructure and service teams, while also benefiting from RM’s experience in the field and its purchasing power.
“The combination of increased innovation and reliability that is provided will transform our IT systems and equipment, bringing a tangible improvement not only to pupils’ learning, but also to the working lives of our teachers.”
