Doctor Who star Stuart Bevan has died at the age of 73 after ex-partner Katie Manning named him “the most beautiful man”

Stuart Bevan died at the age of 73.

The actor was best known for his role as Professor Clifford Jones in 1973 Doctor whostarring John Pertuy as the Third Doctor.

His death was confirmed by co-star and ex-partner Katie Manning in a Twitter topic on Monday afternoon.

Along with several images of the couple, released between 1972 and 1974, the actress wrote: “#StewartBevan The most beautiful male poet actor, screenwriter husband and father of @CoralBevan ❤️ @ Misswendybevan ❤️ went on his terribly great adventure.

“He was the love of my life for many years on and off the screen and our wonderful friendship lasted to the end.”

In a second tweet, she continued: “I was commissioned to write a short story for a collection in the middle of it and my beloved Stewart is a huge part of my story, so I have to go on and dedicate it to him with all my love, how blessed I am he touched Have your life and enlightened my heart since 1971?

The actor, whose credits include the role of Ray Oswell in Emmerdale, survived by his two daughters, Coral and Wendy Bevan.

Stewart portrays Professor Clifford in all six episodes of Doctor Who is the Green Death in 1973.

Katie starred as Joe Grant in the science fiction television series from 1971 to 1973. Her departure for Green Death is known to Doctor Who fans as one of the most emotional scenes in the series.

The episodes focus on the recent adventures of the Third Doctor with Joe, who fell in love with Clifford and married him.
