Rapper Dizzee Rascal has been found guilty of assaulting his ex-fiancée.
The 37-year-old star, whose real name is Dylan Mills, took a camera from a PA Media photographer after leaving the Wimbledon magistrate’s court and threw it on the road, smashing it.
The Grimm actor denied pressing his forehead against hers and pushing her to the ground during a “chaotic” argument at a home in Steam, South London, on June 8 last year.
Behind the top singles Bonkers and Dance Wiv Me, he had two children with Cassandra Jones before splitting in February 2021.
The court heard that Mills and Ms. Jones, who had been together for nine years before their separation, quarreled when Mills left their daughter on the day of the attack.
Mills “entered” the property with his son under his arms before “screaming and screaming” and hitting his head in the refrigerator three times.
Mills approached Mrs. Jones, “touched his forehead to hers and pushed her around the room,” and then “pushed her to the ground,” the court heard.
The musician was arrested at the scene and made a prepared statement during a police interview in which he denied the allegations and accused Ms. Jones of injuring his arm.
Mills released his debut album Boy In Da Corner in 2003.
He received an MBE for services in the field of music in celebration of the Queen’s birthday 2020.
