Police said they had driven away drivers from far away from London, which is under Tier 4 restrictions.

Dr. David Hepburn, an intensive care consultant, said it was “extremely disappointing” for people to travel to visit the mountains, despite the surge in Covid cases.

Dr. Hepburn, who works at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport, Wales, told the BBC: “Currently, all hospitals throughout the Health Commission are very full.

“There’s still a lot of time before this pandemic is in control, so something could actually happen next month or so.”

Wales is under the national level 4 blockade introduced on 20 December.

Police officers today set a road blockade on Brecon Beacons.

There were visitors from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, London (under Tier 3 rules), and people from Swansea, Cardiff, and Newport.

Carmarthenshire police tweeted today that they are conducting a “high visibility patrol” outside the mountains.

They write: “Many people are visiting the area to walk Pen y Fan.

“This is not mandatory. Officers are involved, educated and will implement restrictions as needed.”

No travel

Entry and exit to Wales is not permitted unless deemed “required”. This means raising children, educating, providing care to others, and working when you can’t from home.

People are not allowed to enter or leave the Tier 4 region of England, mainly in the southeastern part of the country and in London, to stop the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, Boris Johnson will decide on a new tier in England tonight. In the claim that up to two-thirds of people could fall into the strictest blockade restrictions.

The Prime Minister will chair a meeting of the “Covid-O” committee tonight prior to tomorrow’s announcement by the Minister of Health.

It’s coming because Whitehall sources claimed that a “significant mass” of Midland and North could be put into Tier 4.

Ministers are increasingly concerned about new, more infectious variants of Covid that are spreading across the country.

The government has not yet ruled out new, stricter “Tier 5” rules that could close schools, but Whitehall sources say Tier 4 expansion is likely to occur “in the near future.” I will.

The number of coronavirus cases in the UK was a record high of 53,135, and the number of deaths after hospitalization was 414, which was past the peak in April.
