A particularly compelling memory is the moment my mother was caught trying to steal shoes from a local supermarket when she couldn’t afford new shoes at school.

“Terrifyingly, I was caught and the police came and took me to the back room to tell me,” the 33-year-old book was serialized in the mirror this week.

“They also called my mother. The clerk found my tattered loafers.

“‘I was bullied and punctured my shoes,'” lamented this complete stranger.

“‘I can’t afford to buy new ones for her,’ my mother regretted, and seeing how few we were, they let me hold them. ”

Christine is currently living a comfortable life in Cheshire with her husband, the TV presenter. Paddy field And their three children Leo and Penelope, 8 and 5 year old Felicity. And, despite the challenging start of life, she told the readers of her story, “I won’t change that.”

“My childhood was difficult. There were no two ways to do that,” she explained.

“Financially, we didn’t have anything and grew up in a fairly large public housing in an area called Halewood on Merseyside.

“We lived in a skyscraper apartment and there was a bar in the window. Mother Joan and I now laugh and say my brother and I were dragged in. But if you didn’t I won’t change it. I got something, you won’t miss it. “
