Chet Hanks refuses to apologise for culturally appropriating accents in season two trailer for ZIWE

Chet Hanks refused to apologise for culturally appropriating accents as he and Emily Ratajkowski Hanks were grilled in the second season trailer for Showtime talk show ZIWE

On Thursday, Showtime unveiled the trailer for the 12-episode second season of Ziwerekoru ‘Ziwe’ Fumudoh’s self-titled talk show where she grills celebs including two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks’ son.

The 30-year-old cringe comedian first asked the 31-year-old fitness coach, who appeared on the show alongside Emily Ratajkowski: ‘What accent will you be conducting this interview in?’

Chet – who’s been known to culturally appropriate various ‘blaccents’ – replied using Jamaican slang: ‘Bof!’

When Ziwe asked if there were any marginalized communities he wanted to apologize to on her official apology cam, Hanks replied: ‘Nah.’

Chet had routinely hit with claims of ‘cultural appropriation’ for frequently attempting to speak in a fake ‘Jamaican’ accent.

In 2020, he was yet again slammed for impersonating what seemed to be Jamaican patois – an English-based creole language with West African influences – in a bizarre video rant about Donald Trump following Joe Biden’s presidential win.

The twosome – who both attended Northwestern University – then performed sit-ups, likely as part of the Your Honor actor’s self-mastery program.

Fumudoh also puts Inamorata CEO Emily Ratajkowski on the spot in the two-minute preview.

When the Massachusetts-born funnywoman asked the 30-year-old My Body author what exactly empowerment meant to her, she shrugged: ‘I don’t know what empowerment means.’

Ziwe didn’t break her smile as she simply said: ‘Wow.’

On Oscar night March 27, Emily and Fumudoh took a ‘bathroom break’ together inside the Wallis Annenberg Center, which was uploaded to TikTok.

Ratajkowski and the Dickinson actress-story editor’s vainglorious posing in the mirror was hilariously interrupted by Wolf Like Me actress Isla Fisher.

Also being interviewed in the teaser by the Ziwe was The Breakfast Club co-host Charlamagne Tha God, who vaguely said that facts ‘sort of’ exist.
