Brits experiencing long Covid ‘face postal care lottery’

The Government Call for increased investment for a long time ვიდed The study came after warnings that patients were suffering under the “postcode lottery” of care.

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) said the problem will exacerbate health inequality.

Delegates attend the RCN Annual Congress in St. Louis Glasgow Hear on Tuesday that diagnosis and treatment are very different in the UK.

Long have some clinics treat Covid as a physical condition, but mostly as a psychological condition for others, and the existing services are sadly inadequate to meet the level of demand, according to the RCN.

According to the latest official data, two million people experience long-term covitis.

Ministers should significantly increase their investment in Covid’s long-term research and support to ensure adequate services and they are consistent in the UK.

RCN calls on the government to significantly increase investment in research and care to ensure patients are treated fairly in the UK to avoid exacerbating harmful health inequalities.

RCN said it also wants nursing expertise to be more widely used to treat the condition.

The College said that where nursing staff are used to long-term care of Covid, they play a crucial role in managing patient care and treating chronic symptoms.

RCN’s Professional Public Health Leader, Helen Donovan, said: “As nursing staff, we are seeing for the first time how life-threatening long-term Covid can be, especially when patients suffer from severe chronic symptoms such as fatigue, joint pain and brain fog. .

“With more than two million patients, there are not enough specialized services to meet the growing demand, and patient care varies significantly across the country.

What is clear is that the understanding of nursing staff who have long-term management conditions, including pain management, is not used effectively.

“Ministers need to significantly increase investment in Covid’s long-standing research and support to ensure adequate services and consistency in the UK.”
