Boris Johnson warns Tories lawmakers to support the tier system or risk a third blockade when fighting the backbench rebellion

Boris Johnson threatens with a third blockade if the rebel Tory backbencher fails to support the new Tier system.

The prime minister is rallying lawmakers this week to vote in favor of the new restrictions to quell the rebellion within the party.

On December 2, England will be divided into a three-tier system and the region will be classified as either medium risk, high risk or very high risk.

At Tier 3, hospitality facilities continue to have a devastating impact on the industry.

Prior to the House of Commons vote on Tuesday, skeptics of the Prime Minister’s plan demanded “firm evidence” that the new regulation would save lives in the midst of economic turmoil.

But to appease system critics, Johnson introduced the prospect of relaxing Tier 3 restrictions as part of a pre-Christmas review.

Still, the prime minister threatens to introduce another blockade if parliamentarians do not vote to maintain the tier system until Easter.

In a letter to MPs, he said, “To continue to control the virus and avoid another national blockade that overwhelms the NHS or damages and limits it far more than these layers. Was warned that it was necessary.

He also said: “These will not be easy decisions.

“Christmas is just around the corner, and the tough months of January and February are coming, so we need to continue to pay attention.”

“The prime minister does not want to impose such restrictions on society, the economy and the mental health of people,” he added.

On Sunday, he sent another letter to about 70 Tory lawmakers in the Covid Recovery Group. Many of them are considering voting against the Tier system on Tuesday.

The prime minister urged the group to “show unity and resolve” as the end of the pandemic was spectacular.

He writes: “This strategy is a balanced approach that helps prevent the NHS from being overwhelmed, sends children to school, opens the economy in a safe way, and moves forward in the best possible way.

“There are all reasons to believe that the worst is behind us, so it’s time to unite and resolve more than ever.”

Tomorrow, Number 10 will publish a document analyzing the economic and social impacts of Covid-19 and the restrictions implemented to prevent its spread.

The analysis includes forecasts from the Bank of England and the Department of Budget and Responsibility.

Johnson hopes the data will help curb growing anxiety within his party.

This is because Dominic Raab warned that the UK would be at risk of being hit by Covid’s third wave in the event of a tier system failure.

The Foreign Minister said, “We need to get the balance right,” but we couldn’t rule out a third blockade if the stricter layers didn’t work. “We are doing everything we can to avoid it,” he added.
