But the winner of the talent explained that he shot the show himself and financed the whole project.

“So I put this show on myself [financed] that, all by myself, “he said.

“I put my money where my mouth is. So it looks like “oh, wow, Amazon Prime”, but it doesn’t look like that from behind. It was a lot of stress.

“I had to borrow from other people, I had already left the deposit and then Amazon took it. So it wasn’t for Amazon Prime. Amazon took it.”

He continued, “I recorded it, then Amazon said, ‘Oh, we want this,’ and that was a year later.”

Another suggested that the show ban “professionals”, saying: “BGT needs to clarify the rules, what are the chances of amateur performers against experienced professionals? Axel Blake already has a series on Amazon Prime”

The London comic told BGT during his audition that even with the extra work, he still works as a property maintenance manager.

While the final result was read by the hosts of BGT Ant and Dek, Axel fell to his knees when he heard his name. Axel said to the double act: “I’m shaking!”
