Bentley Bentayga EWB is an off-road limousine worth £ 180,000 with Airline seats

Today, Bentley is releasing a stretched version of its best-selling Bentayga model, which bosses say provides a first-class level of comfort at the airline.

Priced at around £ 180,000 – but probably over £ 300,000 for the most equipped versions – the new Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB) is designed to improve the well-being and well-being of passengers and allow them to arrive at their destination fresher than if they set off.

That means it gets airline-style seating comfort, posture massages and improved cabin air quality – from what’s claimed to be the world’s first climate sensing system – designed to enhance cabin comfort for what it calls its grand SUV. .

Too far? This is the new Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase, which brings limousine-like comfort to the brand’s 2.5-ton SUV

Prices are generally 15 percent higher than the equivalent standard length of the Bentayga.

The first deliveries are expected in the fall of this year.

Bentley says the EWB is “much more than just a stretch” and “the best rear-end experience since Mulsanne.”

Clearly designed for owners with good heels who will ride with a driver rather than ride themselves, it will be sold at launch with a boisterous 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 under the hood.

Coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission, it produces a whopping 550 horsepower and can catapult this chic car and its passengers out of deep pocket from rest to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and up to 100 mph – where it’s legal – in 10 seconds, with a top speed of 180 miles per hour.

Most likely, there will be a more economical 3.0-liter fake hybrid version of the V6, but it has not yet been confirmed.

For improved cornering, the EWB – which is two-quarters of a tonne – also has electronic all-wheel steering for narrow corners and narrow city streets, which was first introduced by Bentley on the new Flying Spur.

Changes to the lower floor, side panels, doors and roof (including changing the position of the sunroof) increase the wheelbase from 2995 mm to 3175 mm and the total length of 5322 mm

The Bentayga EWB stretches an extra 180mm in length compared to a conventional SUV, which means an extra seven inches of legroom in the rear. Bentley says it is longer than any competitor by more than 40mm

With roulette ready, the new Bentayga EWB stretches an extra 180mm in length compared to a conventional SUV, which means an extra seven inches of legroom behind.

Bentley adds that it is longer than any other luxury SUV competitor on the market by more than 40mm.

However, the 7-seater option will not be strictly because Bentley customers “value luxury over practicality,” the brand says.

Owners can choose from three seat configurations.

The first is a standard 4 + 1 layout, with two exterior rear seats with 16 adjustments and a massage device, and sometimes a medium seat large enough to accommodate a third adult, and giving access to a ski hatch.

The second option is a four-seater installation with a rear console between the two rear seats – this allows for either extra storage space or a console cooler for the Mulliner bottle for champagne, complete with two handmade Cumbria Crystal flutes.

Finally, customers can choose a five-seater car if they want to fold the rear backs.

There won’t be a seven-seater version, as customers have said that in the stretch model they value more luxury over practicality – and of course there’s plenty of evidence of that when it comes to comfort from behind.

In Relax mode, the seat can be tilted up to 40 degrees. When the engines of the passenger seat move forward, a leather footrest unfolds from the back of the front passenger seat.

We took a seat in the back for ourselves, though not in motion, and in full stretch it is certainly a great place to nap.

In business mode the seat moves to the most upright position to make work on the go more comfortable with laptop, phone or Zoom calls during transport.

The chairs also come with new automatic climate technology that determines surface temperature and humidity and then decides whether to use heat, ventilation or both at the same time to maintain “optimal thermal well-being”.

Posture is also important. To make the rear passengers comfortable throughout the ride, the seat posture adjustment system automatically measures the pressure on the seat surface and makes micro-adjustments to the seat position and pressure points.

Within three hours, the system can apply 177 individual pressure changes in six completely independent pressure zones to improve passenger comfort and minimize fatigue throughout the trip.

It’s an incredible level of attention to detail for your comfort and surpasses the seats you’ll find in any first-class flight.

Another handy feature is the electric rear doors, which can be closed at the touch of a button on the center console, instead of feeling the need to reach out and close them yourself.

The British brand of engines says: “The result is a spacious, luxurious, bright cabin that showcases both traditional Bentley skills and the latest technology.”

The bosses predict that the EWB will account for up to 45 percent of all Bentayga sales if the car hits showrooms from the third quarter of this year.

Last year, Bentley sold a record 14,659 cars, of which just over a third were Bentaygas.

Chairman and CEO Adrian Holmark added: “The Bentayga Extended Wheelbase is our first car truly dedicated to the well-being of its passengers.

‘Every Bentley will take you to your destination more relaxed than when you started your journey, and yet with an expanded wheelbase we were able to go even further, thanks to the adoption of the world’s first wellness technology built into our unrivaled cabin design.’
