Dr. Raoul Mandal of BAKE Off-Star has created the world’s first 100-ingredient cake.
The baker’s masterpiece uses items from 100 countries and is the most difficult task he has ever done in the kitchen, he says.
Among them are British eggs, Singapore hibiscus, Seychelles cinnamon and Cyprus sesame seeds.
The five-layer cake with a suitcase and globe on top weighs 50 kg and is 3 feet 2 inches high.
2018 bake-off champion Rahul, 34, has created a delicacy for Love Home Swap, a villa switch company that owns homes in each of the food-producing countries.
He states: “As far as the baking challenges are concerned, this was spectacular and the most difficult baking I’ve ever done, but I soon realized that I needed to do it.
“When I was asked to take this particular leap, I didn’t have to think twice.
“The hardest part was not actually making the cake, but devising a recipe and making sure the flavors were balanced.”
