Australian comedian Adam Hills will be MBE for his work in disability awareness and Paralympic sports, for his work on the last leg
Australian comedian Adam Hills has been officially selected for the New Year Honors list.
Hills, 51, became an MBE because of his disability awareness and his work in the Paralympic sports, which are the main focus of his television show “Last Leg”.
The talk show moderator, who has a prosthesis, revealed to PA news agency how shocked and uplifting he was with the news.

“I’m definitely suffering a bit to be given this honor,” he said. I googled “I’ve already been an honored Australian comedian” and “When can I start writing MBE after my name?” And “Are Australians even eligible for MBE?”
The presenter soon found the answer to his question after learning that both fellow cartoon Barry Humphries and critic Clive James had received medals.
Hills continued: “Honestly, for a boy in the southern suburbs of Sydney, this is a pretty big deal.”

Hills has been hosting the Channel 4 program The Last Leg since 2012 with Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker.
The show was originally held every night with the London 2012 Paralympics, focusing on the events and news of the day.
Since then, it has incorporated conversations about disabilities, highlighted Paralympic highlights, and featured interviews with Paralympic athletes and celebrities.
The comedy series provides coverage for the London, Rio and Tokyo Paralympics.

“I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to cover the Paralympics and I’m happy to be able to yell out about the Paralympic sports at every opportunity,” Hills continued.
The TV host compared the honor to “eating chocolate.” He explains, “I just love doing it,” and “I’m happy to receive an award for it.”
“I wasn’t sure someone was pranking me,” Adam said, revealing that he hadn’t told his family about the news yet for “two reasons.”
He jokingly explained that the second reason was:
