Kupcho became the first American winner since Brittany Lincicome in 2015.
After the game, she told the press, “I’ve been so close many times. It’s really difficult, but here I am.
Kupcho observed tournament tradition by jumping into Poppie’s Pond, alongside her caddy and her husband, after claiming victory. The tradition was started by Amy Alcott in 1983.
