Amazon’s grocery delivery service is set to take on Tesco after promising to match the supermarket’s clubcard prices.

It comes after Amazon Fresh was found to offer the cheapest shopping cart in the latest study by trade magazine The Grocer, 78p less expensive than Tesco, which took second place.

As the UK finds itself in the depths of a livelihood crisis, Amazon Fresh prices have risen 3.7 per cent over the past year.

Price reduction: In the current study by the trade magazine The Grocer, Amazon Fresh offers the cheapest shopping cart

But this compares to 8.5 percent in the leading supermarkets.

Russell Jones, Director of Amazon Fresh said, “Improving our shopping experience and providing Amazon Fresh customers value for their money is our top priority.”
