Alaska: A magnitude 6.5 earthquake hits the Alaska Peninsula

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck the Alaska Peninsula.

The quake is believed to have hit the east of the city of Chignik.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center said it was 47 miles deep.

No tsunami warning has been issued yet.
