Agxio, artificial intelligence specialist at Agritech, raises £ 2.1 million in over-enrolled pre-Serie A round
ABERYSTWYTH, Wales, UK – Revolutionary AI platform, Agsioclosed a £ 2.1 million pre-Series A round to finance downsizing and international expansion.
Founded in 2018, the company developed, implemented and validated a low-code platform that automates the role of the data scientist and machine learning engineer to rapidly design, build and deploy enterprise-scale AI solutions across a broad range of use cases in the agricultural and associated life sciences industries. After commercializing their offering and building significant strategic partnerships, the funding round will be used to further grow the award-winning team, enter new AI, agrotechnology and life science markets, and continue to develop the platform.
Based at the Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus and Cambridge Science Park, Agxio applies advanced automated machine learning to bring science and technology to the fore in the agricultural, life sciences and biotechnology industries. The Development Bank of Wales is an investor and Agxio is the Welsh Government’s strategic partner for Agritech Innovation, with the company having developed strong relationships to support both UK and international growth.
Agxio’s single integrated platform combines state-of-the-art proprietary platforms to solve complex, real-world problems that go beyond the human scale. It enables farmers, researchers and policy makers to safely leverage and share data, models and best practices to deliver sustainable and seasonal precision farming. Data-agnostic, can operate on numerical, textual and image data, both on-site and off-site, and allows optimized results and decision-making processes in real time. The platform is also an accelerator for creating new applications including drone analysis, robotics, image analysis and biotechnology.
The company’s suite of technologies has been commercially validated across all industries and use cases, including arable and livestock farming, indoor agriculture, parasitology, community health care, and pathology.
Dr Stephen Christie, CEO and co-founder of Agxio, said:
