In some of these states, the legal status of abortion has changed multiple times since the Supreme Court’s decision.

In Kentucky, the state’s abortion ban which came into force on June 24, the court temporarily blocked it on June 30 and now the hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.

In Ohio, the state’s six-week abortion ban went into effect after a court struck down the law on June 24. He was challenged in court on June 29, but the Ohio Supreme Court on Friday denied the emergency stay. It continues.

And in Mississippi, the state’s abortion ban was approved by the Republican attorney general on June 27, taking effect Thursday. Abortion rights advocates tried to block the law from taking effect, but a judge ruled against them on Tuesday.

“The state of play is changing by the hour,” said Anthony Romero, executive director of the ACLU. It is clear that the Supreme Court’s decision has plunged this country and the judiciary itself into a historic crisis.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dennenfelser said the Supreme Court’s decision “cleared the way for pro-life leaders across America to act quickly on the will of the people.”

“Lives will be saved immediately and thousands will be saved in the coming weeks and months,” Dannenfelser said.
