A woman diagnosed with a brain tumor saw her holiday dream turn into a nightmare after discovering that her “luxury” Tenerife hotel had been abandoned.
Sue Connor, from Bexley, London, recently decided to take off for a sunny break in Spain after a doctor warned her that she suffered from bleeding in the brain and a tumor could deprive her of her eyesight.
However, when she arrived at the Marino Hotel, 42, she reported that she was frightened and stuck just by discovering that it had been boarded and abandoned. mirror..
After receiving a life-changing diagnosis, Sue and her companions decided to pack their bags and head for the Canary Islands-forked for pre-departure testing prior to the flight from Stansted in August.
The pair was worried when their reserved coaches did not appear when they landed on Tenerife.
After contacting the help desk, they were dropped outside the Marino Hotel-but they saw the promised four-star venue abandoned by barbed wire fences around the site. I was shocked.
Embarrassed Sue and her friend asked what happened at a nearby bar, and locals said the hotel was actually closed for over a year.
“I had bleeding in my brain and tumor, so I wanted to come on a holiday,” Sue told the outlet.
“We were all booked for a 4-star property on the premises, but when we arrived, the hotel was completely closed and looked like the premises of a building.
“The live lines were hanging from the walls and all the apartments were torn. The reception was full of old rice cookers and there was bureaucracy around the pool.”
As the workers walked through the gate and looked around, they saw furniture piled up in a vacant hotel.
After falling with his companion, Sue was forced to spend all but 20 euros (£ 17) in cash on another accommodation.
Sue got out of her pocket and spent a week watching flat TV before returning to England.
“I was completely stuck with a brain tumor and had no accommodation at all,” Sue said.
“I was about to walk around for two hours and collapse, trying to get home at the airport.
“Holiday from hell”
“Booking at a hotel with internal organs is completely unacceptable in any case, but it is not enough that it gets 10 times worse.
“I had a holiday from hell.
“I had the worst holiday I’ve ever imagined, and I’m back feeling more stressed than I started.
“It’s unfair, unnecessary, and above all incompetent at all levels.”
Sue asked Teletext Holiday for an answer after the company sent her to a closed hotel.
