This is a shocking moment when a man was killed with a knife from a car window by his brother in the daytime, following a fierce family feud.
The shocking CCTV footage captured the moment David Rogers, 32, slammed into his brother’s car with a blade before he and his other brothers fled.
26-year-old Thomas Rogers was sitting in his Vauxhall Astra when the gray car was pulled up in front of him and his brothers flowed out with a group of men.
David then moved towards the passenger seat where Thomas was sitting, thrusting a knife into his brother’s heart through an open window and being attacked for just 30 seconds.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and found Thomas lying down on the street, but later declared at the hospital that he had died from a wound in his chest.
His brothers, David and Samuel Rogers, 30, were arrested, charged with murder, and tried in the Crown Court of Birmingham.
The jury was told that the pair carried out the attack following a discussion of a bitter family where Thomas ended up living with his mother.
On the eve of the attack and in the hours leading up to the attack, David sent a message to Thomas.
The brothers later discovered Thomas moving along Bristol Road in Birmingham and jumped from a knife-armed Ford Ka at 4:05 pm on August 22, last year.
Samuel filmed his brother going to Astra and brutally stabbing Thomas through the passenger seat window.
The man then saw Thomas bleed and die and took the sledgehammer to Thomas’s car.
After that, the men tried to escape to Northumbria.
David went to the hotel, where officers found a clear suicide note apologizing for what he had made his “younger brother.”
David of South Shields in Tyneside was found guilty of murder, and Samuel of Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottingham was found guilty of murder but convicted of manslaughter.
David was sentenced to life imprisonment on Thursday and served at least 18 years while Samuel was in a cage for nine years.
They both previously pleaded guilty to possession of a knife.
Two other men, Ryan Hart, 22, and McCaulejye Welby, 22, in Mansfield, Nottingham, had no settlement and both escaped murder.
West Midlands Police Investigator Stuart Mobary said:
“And now they will spend years in jail for their role in this crime.
“When we say there is no winner of the knife crime, this cannot be true just in case.
“As a result of this vicious crime, the mother lost three sons, not just one.”
