A man looking at an unsolved and unsolved murder of two teenage girls in Delphi, Indiana His own brother says it is “absolutely possible” to commit a horrific crime.
Detectives confirmed last week that they were investigating 42-year-old James Chadwell II in connection with the deaths of 13-year-old Abigail “Abby” Williams and 14-year-old Liberty “Libby” Germans in 2017.
On February 13th of that year, the girls went missing while hiking the Monon Highbridge Trail in Delphi, and the next day, the bodies were found in a nearby forest.
The case has puzzled investigators and remains unresolved four years later, but the detective has declared that he is investigating Chadwell, who was arrested for an unrelated crime in Indiana last month.
On April 19, this year, Chadwell was accused of inviting a nine-year-old girl to Lafayette’s home and stroking her dog. He then took her to the basement, attacking her, strangling her, and sexually assaulting her before being rescued by police.
The attack took place just 20 miles from Williams, and the Germans were found dead four years ago.
Well, in an exclusive interview with Inside Edition, Chadwell’s family says he may have killed a teenage girl four years ago.
Police investigating the unsolved 2017 murders of Libby German (left) and Abbey Williams (right) in Delphi, Indiana confirmed that they were “investigating” Chadwell.
Libby German posted this photo on Snapchat while Abbey Williams was walking on a discontinued railroad bridge hours before it was discontinued.
Brother Ashley Chadwell told the program on Tuesday: Absolutely, absolutely. “
Ashley Chadwell even claims that his brother tried to drown him as a child.
“He has repeatedly shown to his friends as well as his family that he has that kind of evil line to him,” he said.
“He’s a monster. He’s an absolutely wicked person.”
Chadwell has been in and out of jail since he was a teenager.
Ashley Chadwell said his brother “because he is a monster, he should not be trapped and released again.”
Meanwhile, Chadwell’s own stepfather also told Inside Edition that his stepfather could be the cause of the double murder.
“Is he capable? Maybe. And you know, should they put him back on the street? Never before. This time he throws away the keys,” he said.
Chadwell’s brother (left) and stepfather (right) say they may have killed Libby German and Abbey Williams in 2017.
Last week, local sheriff Tobe Leazenby said WRTV Investigators are investigating Chadwell to determine if he has anything to do with the unresolved murder.
“The information is clearly shared with us and our investigators are investigating him,” said Risenby.
The murders of Libby German and Abbey Williams made an international headline four years ago.
Two teenage girls were dropped off on the Delphi Historic Trail on February 13, 2017 to go hiking.
They were reported missing when their parents did not appear when they came to pick them up.
A search to find teens began, and the next day their bodies were found in a secluded forest area away from the main trail.
The cause of their death has never been announced by the authorities.
Investigators believe that the girls approached from a stranger while hanging on a bridge along the route.
The incident has long focused on a man captured by a camera on Libby’s phone walking on a railroad bridge that was abandoned on the day they went missing.
A few days after the killing, authorities released two grainy photographs of the suspect found on her phone.
The man wore blue jeans and a blue jacket.
Investigators also released an audio clip from her phone, which they believe they recorded “while there was potential for criminal activity.”
In it, the suspect can be heard telling the girls, “Go down the hill.”
The man has never been identified.

Libby (left) and Abbey (right) were kidnapped and killed in Delphi, Indiana. After more than four years, little is known about their killings and no one has been arrested.
Meanwhile, Chadwell remains in prison after being charged with kidnapping last month.
According to court documents, the 42-year-old girl invited her home to stroke her dog on the night of April 19.
Once inside, the suspect allegedly hit her head many times and strangled her.
“Chadwell also fainted by putting his hand on his neck and choking and using his arm with a headlock,” the prosecutor said.
When the girl arrived, she said most of her clothes were undressed, and Chadwell took her to the basement, where she forced her to sexually act, the document said.
The girl told police that Chadwell warned her that she would kill her if she yelled at her or told someone what had happened.
The girl was reported missing by her mother around 7 pm. It’s been about 30 minutes since she last said she met her at her home near Sagamore Parkway.
When police were searching for the missing girl in the neighborhood, Chadwell reported that the girl had previously entered her home but left, the document said.
Police said he asked Chadwell if he could search his house, and he said.
Within an hour of her disappearance, police officers found her dressed on the floor next to her in a chain-locked basement in Chadwell, visibly distraught and crying. The document states that it did.
The girl suffered multiple injuries, was covered with bruise and strangulation, and had a dog bite on her paw.
Police said she had told investigators that she thought she would die.
