In a CNN interview, she described the destruction of her affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood, which included the homes of several notable residents. Melissa, 56, recounted her frantic evacuation, prioritizing important documents and keepsakes, such as her mother’s Emmy, a photo of her father, and a cherished drawing. She expressed a deep sense of loss, not just for herself but for everyone affected by the disaster, emphasizing the importance of being prepared for emergencies.

The TV personality, 56, reflected on the heartbreaking loss of her home in an interview with CNN on Wednesday, saying her wealthy town had been “wiped off the map.”
Neighbors like Tina Knowles, Anthony Hopkins, Candy Spelling, Miles Teller, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester are just some of the people whose homes were destroyed in the heatwave.
Joan Rivers, who passed away in 2014 at the age of 81, won a Daytime Emmy Award in 1990 for Outstanding Talk Show Host for “The Joan Rivers Show.”
“I had kind of a mental checklist: I made sure to get my passport, my birth certificate, my medication, my clothes,” Melissa told the magazine.
Starr recalled that she was “shopping for clothes” before evacuating her residence in the Palisades. “It started hitting me. We were literally just carrying what was on our backs.”

“I got dog food and cat food, and luckily my office was at my home. [I grabbed] Whatever was there. ”
“In my personal situation, that’s it. Everything that belongs to my family and its history is over,” Rivers said emotionally.
She added, “To be 100% honest, I got my mom’s Emmy, my dad’s photo, and my mom’s drawing of me and my son…”
Melissa then advised, “The most important thing is to have your documents, all your IDs and passports ready and have them all in one place and ready to go.” Thankfully, we are organized that way. ”
The TV personality said, “It’s amazing what you can grasp.” What you captured is amazing. ”
She added, “I picked up a painting my mother made because I knew I would find the photo.” [But a drawing of hers] I can’t replace you. ”
The mother-of-one continued: “But my heart is so broken, not only for myself but for everyone who is going through this situation.” He described the town of Pacific Palisades as being “wiped off the map.”
Melissa also revealed to her followers on her Instagram page on Wednesday that her home was lost.

She wrote, “My family and I were able to evacuate safely. I am so grateful that we were unharmed.”
“I am heartbroken by the devastation caused by the fire that tragically destroyed my home.”
“I would like to express my deep gratitude to the brave firefighters and first responders who tirelessly risk their lives to protect our communities and save lives,” Rivers concluded.
It’s worth noting that Melissa purchased the Pacific Palisades home nearly four years ago in 2021 for $7.7 million, according to Architectural Digest.
The two-story home had five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms.
The backyard had a swimming pool, spa area, and outdoor fireplace.
Melissa previously owned another property in the Palisades, which she sold in 2019 for approximately $5.2 million.
The Palisades fire alone destroyed about 5,300 structures, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Melissa also revealed to her followers on her Instagram page on Wednesday that her home was lost.

The Eaton Fire near the Altadena and Pasadena areas had destroyed 4,000 to 5,000 structures as of Thursday.
“The Palisades Fire is one of the most devastating natural disasters in Los Angeles history,” said Los Angeles Fire Chief Christine Crowley.
The devastating fires that broke out on Tuesday amid high winds in Santa Ana forced about 180,000 people from their homes across Southern California, according to NBC News.
The Kenneth Fire also broke out Thursday near Los Angeles’ Woodland Hills neighborhood, currently burning about 50 acres.
Other celebrities who lost their homes in the Los Angeles fires include Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles, and Anna Faris.
Candy Spelling’s Malibu home on Pacific Coast Highway was also destroyed by fire, and she told TMZ, “I am in shock and accepting this huge loss for my family.”

“I’m so grateful for the memories. It was such a gift.”
Her best friend, Josh Flagg, also said: “I’m devastated.” This house has many memories. Even though the house is gone, the memories remain. This is a complete disgrace. This whole fire is unfortunate. This didn’t have to happen. ”
Actors John Goodman and Anthony Hopkins, as well as Miles Teller and his wife Kelly, also lost their fortunes.
A total of 9,000 structures are reported to have been damaged or destroyed by numerous fires, and approximately 130,000 residents remain under evacuation orders.
