Britain’s most prolific rapist, Reinhard Sinaga, has been the target of an alleged premeditated attack by vigilantes in prison.
Sinaga, 41, was found guilty in January 2020 of committing 159 sexual assaults after tricking 48 men into ingesting date rape drugs, and now faces a minimum of 40 years in prison. He is serving a life sentence.
The sexual assaulter is believed to have narrowly escaped serious injury during the attack at HMP Wakefield in July before being restrained by prison officers.
“Sinaga is arrogant and disliked by the public. He is a clear target for prison because of his despicable crimes,” a source told The Sun.
“He was seconds away from causing extremely serious harm. He is in danger.”
The Indonesian student drugged and raped men in his Manchester flat for more than 10 years.
He would pretend to be a “Good Samaritan” to men who had become separated from their friends on the streets at night.
The sexual assaulter, who described himself in court as an effeminate homosexual, struck up a conversation and invited them to his nearby apartment.

Shinaga is currently serving a sentence with a minimum life expectancy of 40 years.
The victims ranged in age from 18 to 36, but the average age was 21, Manchester Crown Court heard.
Most were students, some still attending school, including the former, the sixth person who escaped from his grasp and was arrested by Shinaga.
His crimes came to light in June 2017 after his final victim, an 18-year-old rugby player, woke up during the assault and fought off Shinaga.
Shinaga was so badly beaten that he was taken to hospital, and police initially arrested the victim on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
But when investigators searched Shinaga’s iPhone, they discovered more than 3 terabytes of videos of his assaults and rapes.
Jack McRae, 32, was charged with attempted GBH with Sinaga’s intent. He was then transferred to Frankland Prison in County Durham.
He faces similar charges against child murder-rapist Wilbert Dyce in Wakefield in 2023.
McRae is also accused of ABH against Saeed Taheri, Patrick Harrington and Andrew Gillis, who were late, and assaulting an emergency worker.
Andrew Beedie, now of Long Lartin, Works, is co-accused of the attack on Taheri.
Mr McRae is due to appear before magistrates in Leeds on Tuesday.
